Default Huge Defiant MSD for all

Hi folks.

I just completed a corrected MSD showing an 8 deck interior as was first envisaged for the ship.
Extra large 8000 pix wide Christmas bumper edition for all to enjoy

In case you're all wondering, the lower 2 decks are either side of the center line so are not depicted here.

Wow, The work is good I just wish the verbage didn't take me out it.
The eight deck Defiant is interesting yet too big for me...

What does the ship measure as length wise?

Not sure, perhaps 180 to 210m long.

I did an 8 deck version to see what it would look like.

Great scott...210....that a big boy.
Some times she looks that big.

There are two rows of lights underneath so it implies that.

Precisely what started my thinking about doing the 8 deck version.

Then, we have shots of the defiant beside the Miranda class, and 200 odd meters looks very possible

Well it got me thinking too.
I pretty much listened to the Ex Atris Guy.

Yesterday I started to throw out all that we had known on the ship.

Heres the facts:
1. Defiant has two rows of lights on the bottom of the ship.

This implies that the MSD is wrong to show four decks

2. Worf is said in one episode to be operating on deck 5.

This further implies the MSD is wrong.

3. The Tech manual says Defiant is 170 meters long.

This implies the MSD is wrong as the decks would have to be much bigger

4. Defiant is constantly seen fitting the Dock of a Primary Pylon which is as big as Defiants Nose.

Defiants nose obviously has a walk way through it but the MSD implies that this hatch would be as big as a whole deck and there is no hatch that big on the Nose.
Which Implies the MSD is wrong.

Interesting...

It's obvious that the exterior of Defiant could NEVER fit the 120m length established by ex astris.

However
with 8 decks Defiant becomes significantly more roomy.
More than 40 people could be station on board.
On screen shows only 3 decks in the plans
One screen only shows 4 decks in the MSD

Many CGI scenes require Defiant to be much larger.

I couldn't come to a conclusion
The windows the lack of hatch on the nose would help us to scale it to 120....but....
That's not going to happen.

My only conclusion is that all the MSD's are wrong.

Indeed they are.

Thats why I made two. One with the screen established for decks and one with 8 decks according to visual evidence.

I think Defiant should have less than 8 decks.
I think 6 or 7. Jefferies Tubes should run between the middle decks. The ship should be stuffed with Equipment and tech in those areas....No clean and neat deck arrangement like most ships.

Mmm, I agree.
Here is that turbolift map. 6 decks as you suggest.

I think I'm going to do a 6 deck version!
