I also like a movie with Angela Lansbury init called The Mrs Santa Claus... or something like that.

One of my favorites is a film most people have long forgotten about: "A Christmas Wish" (aka The Amazing Rupert) It's about a small family of vaudvillian show people, down on their luck, who literally have a fortune dumped in their laps. The Amazing Rupert himself was a trained squirrel. (created via stop motion) This was actually George Pal's first theatrical film, and it starrs Jimmy Durrante.

Oy, you had to skip protocol and go right onto the MAJOR cheese!
