But I think we need not abandon ship just yet. We have no concrete proof either way, so why run away?

Personally, I think you are being a bit '2012ish' about the whole thing. But that's just me, and i could be wrong too...

No one is abandoning ship. If this place stay up and running in the new year, the new forum can be allowed to be taken off-line. Though another big problem with this forum is that new members are not being allowed to join and on the startrekkers forum there are already 2 or 3 members who are not members here. They maybe joined but their memberships have never been activated

I think it's probably just fall into disrepair until they clear it out and set up the sequel site - which will just probably be a rebuilt version of this one.

Agreed, although I would argue that it's already fallen into disrepair compared to what it once was.
