Default Enterprise Birdge

Hello.

I'm sorry if this has been discussed, but I couldn't find it. I watched my DVD the other night and I noticed it seemed like when the camera pans out, it seems like the bridge is in the wrong place! Can someone help me out here?

Thanks!

Scott

Is this to do with it's relocation slightly to lower in the dome?

If so then yes is has moved and seems to be part of a now larger deck of the ship - as evidenced by the fact it now has both turbolift and corridor access to it.

The very top of the dome now seems to be a sensor hub or something containing technology/ship's systems etc

Yeah, the upside down shot is really well done!

I think a lot of people had been waiting to see that kind of 'realistic' space style shot for some time.

I think another example are some shots of the Narada with the drilling rig above Vulcan, or to be precise underneath it. The word "above" to describe an object in the orbit of a planet shows that we are used to imagine the relation of objects in space in one way and by simply flipping everything upside down, they play with our expectations and show that space is different from the environment on Earth we are used to.

Yeah, I noticed they did that with the Narada as well. Different and pleasing at the same time, yet not at all confusing really.

I liked the use of silence, too - when that crewperson gets sucked out into the void and suddenly it's completely silent.

The bridge's new location makes so much more sense - why would you strand your entire chain of command in one little room with only one turbolift for escape????
