I thought id seek some advice


so my gf's dad is going to be helping me with a loan on my first semi cuz i will be starting my own company as an owner/operator as soon as i graduate.

now heres 1 truck that caught my eye




the peterbilt 389, id settle for red, but id prefer black....and to add to the black a freind of mine whos willing to do the "hot blue" flame scene i want on the front.


now the next truck






this truck the peterbilt 387, my gf's personal favorite looks wise, i like it too but to me..i unno im still liking the 389 better...



so out of a or B.. wich one would you chose???


keep in mind both trucks have the exact same engine/transmission options.

both have an equal sleeping area....

Hmmm...I would think 387 would be more areodynamic and save you a little on gas.

i was thinking the same..but. it looks rather like a box on wheels

the other hard decider is between a cat engine and a hybrid cummins >_>

I also like the extra chrome...... on the 389

on the other hand...the 387 has foglights..and a body drop her might look cool

either way the hybrid gives me about 250 more miles to a tank of diesel.


but the price of the 387 is actually about 40k higher then the 389 @ where the 389 is 110,000$

the 387 is 150,000$

either way they will pay for themseleves but i am actually leaning to the 387 (without an automatic trans..i hate autos lol)

You might rethink that auto tranny after logging several thousand miles.

driven manual all my life i prolly have a bazillion hours on manual already lol

I like manual too, but if I did long distance hauling again, I think I'd rather do a auto tranny.
