Who of you has gone through this? Any advice? I'm a bit scared

Don't smoke. Don't drink booze. Don't eat peanuts. I did all three (and worse) after having 2 out and let me tell you - having dry sockets scraped out by the dentist makes childbirth feel like a day at the spa.

Do exactly as your DDS says and you'll be fine.

That's something to watch out for cause some dentists think you have to scrape the bone and supposedly that's a big no-no.

All four huh? I hope you don't have any twisted roots. My dentist advises pulling one or two at a time as long as all four aren't killing you at the same time. People are different and you might walk out of there wondering what all the fuss was about, but getting all four pulled leaves most people feeling fuxxored.

I had all four done at once. One was impacted and growing sideways so it had to be broken up into small pieces and extracted through the side. The operation wasnt a big deal at all since they knocked me out. Of course the Vicodin afterwards helped. Ahhh good stuff.

It took a little while for the gums to expand where the teeth used to be. The holes had to be cleaned out all the time with water using a bent syringe to remove any food particles until the gums grew and filled up the gaps. If food gets trapped it could cause infection so thats very important. Not a strong stream of water. Just enough to wash the particles out.

In the end, whatever short term healing and cleaning issues that had to be dealt with was greatly outweighed by the lack of any more toothaches
