My dad was talking with a friend that owns a local hobby shop. I'm not sure of all the details, but I think there was a bit of a shakeup before the movie came out. Basically the manufacturer from some of the kits went under new ownership. The contract to actually produce kits of the ships from the movie wasn't signed till after the movie hit the theaters. That and the economy hasn't been to friendly on the model industry. Supposedly the kit of the Enterprise is supposed to come out some time in 2010, I'm assuming the Kelvin will probably be available around the same time if it is in the works.
