But if we stay in theory universe then perhaps that enlightenment hasn't been reached yet, so in the 23rd Century they still only have them for women.

I'll say nothing about how Trek V stripped Uhura for a desert dance purely to entrance some men and distract them!

I guess that this scene was a homage to Nichols who was a dancer. After The Rodd was dead, the sexploitation part was entirely eliminated with the exception of Seven and T'Pol.

Anyway, Uhura is still a fine character in this movie but skirts make no sense from an in-universe point of view and Saldana would be equally sexy in pants in my opinion.

That's terrible. There is no need for nakedness in the deser in any sci-fi programme.....
