I simply prefer more realistic uniforms (and women can still look sexy and female in ordinary uniforms) and something like miniskirts as casual wear off-duty and I think that her outfit is a bit backwards, especially compared to the portrayal of women in the last years in Trek. Just take Janeway, she is in command and has to be tough but she is still allowed to maintain her feminine side, be it as "mother" of the ship or in holoromances.
Exactly, I have tried making this point for decades.

But in the military these days women have a choice of a skirt or pants in dress uniforms. Maybe Uhura had the same choice?

We seem to have entered some kind of temporal loop, crew! We're going to have to modify the deflector shield.

I'm not sure what we will do with it once we modify it but it seems to be the best way out of any problem

Well said, Horatio! And Jadzia Dax is gorgeous despite the lack of a mini-skirt.

Showing tons of flesh makes you look tarty not sexy. In real life, it seems that most men like a little to be left to their imaginations. Besides, you are not taken seriously if you dress like a tart.

There is nothing worse than constant repeats on TV.
