Sorry. I know no one made that accusation in this thread. I was trying to point out that I am NOT against change, but NOT all change is good, in my opinion.

We could have Kirk be a woman in the next flick!!
I think I have made clear that I am not much of a fan of ST09 but the half-reboot was a great idea IMO.
I am too lazy to rephrase my opinion and simply quote myself:

With this half-reboot they freed themselves from the shackles of continuity and yet can still use whatever they like from previous Trek. Furthermore it is a humble way to approach the franchise, they don't pretend that nothing before their movie existed.

At the end of the day, there were a lot of decisions made when making the film.

Some worked out better than others, but the freeing up from continuity was the best way to do it.

Although, great thread MrQ - such a thorough venting of feelings is good from time to time!! Sometimes that pressure must get released!

bashers hope you are happy in your prime universe at least other people like me and other Trek XI fans can take both prime and the alternate universes.

Anything that starts an interesting discussion is fine.
And to start a good talk, you sometimes need to be a bit provoking or controversial.

By the way, I am impressed how civil things stay despite much of an admin presence. Great folks in here.
