I never intentionally put a movie on to fall asleep. What I experienced often enough is, you are damn tired, but all the very good movies are running in the middle of the night. Or the really intruiging documentaries are shown at 01:00 am. So you force yourself to watch it. You just make it a little more comfortable on the sofa and bamm... your gone.
I hate that. Why the frackin hell is "intelligent" TV running late at night? The whole day the program is packed with home improvement shows, pseudo celebreties cooking for eachother and such while the really good movies run at midnight. Thats silly.

I am very good at not falling asleep during movies, shows, etc. Probably being "young" helps. Usually I'll drift off during the special features that I look at after the movie. I did that during "the Queen".

I can't say that I do... These days especially with energy bills going through the roof... besides, my Dad was the sort of guy who'd fall asleep in front of the TV in his Laz-E-boy... every night... and it always struck me as something I'd rather not get in the habit of doing myself.

Oh, and here's a tip, (if you do this sort of thing) plug your TV into an appliance timer... That way, everything turns off after you've fallen asleep... and you won't be jolted awake by 60 cycle tone, or the TV going over to white noise.

actually our local PBS station goes off air! also, most TVs have timers now... just saying...
