It looks more like a heavy weapon though, there should be like a Carbine or something that goes between the hand phasers and the rifle.

Well, it's not beautiful, but it's classic. You can't diss it and be loyal to Trek! It's epitomal of the corny look, and Kirk managed to use it to kill a god!

I agree, a slight redress would help, but yes, a TOS phaser rifle would be schweeeeet!!!

It's just OTT corny. Looks like something from the 1940s. It follows no form of function or asthetics. It's just... cheap looking. I mean, just compare it to the TOS phaser pistols- they look like they mean something.
