Other, may have been a small one but could have caused accidents. By Brother was on a ladder at work, he had to hold on to a window. He was need the epicenter, when it happened.
As for texting. I tried, some went through but not others, Network was so busy even that failed

As a native, I was baffled (and a little amused) at grown adults who were mad/confused/frustrated that cell phones weren't working right after the quake (and it wasn't even a big one).

Gee, everyone around you is trying to call on their cells... yet no calls are getting through at that same moment. Maybe there's a CLUE in your actions?

Same used to happen with landlines after a quake, before cell phones were around. Same problem (system overload), different technology. You don't need to be Einstein to figure it out.

There is nothing the cellular providers can do to combat user-created problems like that.
