Default embarassing medical question

Don't laugh but I have a big hemorrhoid in my butt. It hurts. At night or after a BM, it itches like crazy.

What can I do about it besides cool running water and some cream?

Should I have my doctor cut it out?

Well, If It's Affecting Your Daily Routines And Sleep, I Would Take Cutting It Off Into Consideration.

Try the over the counter hemorhoid treatments. (and, follow the directions!) Stay off your butt as much as possible, eat lots of fiber, drink plenty of water and possibly take a stool softener. If things haven't gotten better after a week, see your doctor. They have really good topical treatments (way better than over the counter) and can probably get you straightened out without resorting to surgery.

For the future, keep your fiber intake up (Over the counter things like Benefiber can be extremely helpful and can be put into just about anything), keep drinking lots of water and try to get regular exercise. (note, it doesn't need to be extreme, but it should be consistent....put the baby in a stroller and take her for a mile and a half walk every day, something like that).

Good luck!

well, do you have hard BM . That might irritate it more. High fiber diet reduces problems. Preperation H Helps alot when they flare up. As you know it is vains we all have down ther but get big with irritation and sometimes it is genetic. If they still bother you with diet change and creams go to your Doc. Rember some foods can make things worse. read up on it

If you wish, but I don't really see the reason to.
