Time Warner is here in NYC. Never had an issue and their customer service on the rare occasion we've needed it has been very good.
The only thing faster than DSL and cable is Fiber Optic Service (FiOS) by Verizon. It's an option here but we're happy enough with TWC.

I just wish they would let us pick what cable channels we want - right now we get the $10 basic cable cause I'm not paying $65 for a bunch of channels I don't watch.
