Default Can someone help with Firefox please?

I'm having a couple of issues with the latest release and I think I know why but I don't know what to delete or how to deactivate some add-on extensions and stuff.

For one, I'm using AVG as my resident anti-virus. In my FF add-ons console, I see that I have AVG Safe Search 8.0 and AVG Security Toolbar installed but I want to get rid of them. The uninstall button is greyed out so I can't click them.

What plug-ins do I or do I not need to run FF 3? It's got a bunch of stuff in there like Adobe Acrobat, DivX Content Uploader, Java Platform, Microsoft DRM, Microsoft Store Netscape Plugin, Quicktime plugin, Shockwave Flash, WMP plugin dynamic link library. Of those, what don't I need to be running and how do I get rid of them?

I'm always hearing about "profiles" when dealing with issues with FF. I've looked, I don't have profiles. How do you get one?

I have absolutely no clue. Whenever I have issues with Firefox I go the extreme route: Reinstall.

There is a way to safe your Favourite links. But I cant remember the details. Google in what file FF stores the links, put that file somewhere and after reinstallation you put that file into the according folder.

Wasnt really helpfull, ey? But thats what I would do to get rid of some Add-Ons I cant deinstall.

By the way, I also had this AVG safe search and what to say, it didnt help a thing. You get Spy Ware doctor for free with the new Google Updater and so far I havent found a better free Anti Virus Software. It found issues and fixed them that even Kaspersky did not find (and many people swear Kaspersky to be the best).

not really.

I found that I had to reinstall AVG and tell it to not install the safe search feature.

for some strange reason, images from wikipedia were blocked. I searched for a specific image on google and a yellow bar was above the window telling ,e that images from wikipedia were blocked. I unblocked them and now I can see images in wikipedia!

AVG might not be playing well with it. AVG doesn't play well with alot of programs.
