Default Kent Couch went flying today

From Oregon to Idaho in a lawn chair lifted by balloons. Amazing.

I hope he had plenty to drink and plenty of snacks! Sounds like it was a long balloon flight.

I'd be more worried about having to heed the call of nature...

Nah, you can release "ballast" at any time.

Oddly, "cluster balloning" is becoming something of a fad. I'm not sure what the FAA's take on it is, but it seems to be safer form of the sport than when you depend on a single envelope for your lift... probably cheaper, too...

Hey, you could actually create your own ballast that way! If you need to go down, just drink lots of beer and start filling up plastic bags when you gotta go. When you need to gain altitude, just start pouring them out. Or does that somehow violate the laws of physics?
