At least that's possibly how it could be broken down.

I always thought something similar about Alexander the Great. Oliver Stone's movie was good, but most of Alexander's campaign and his life in general wasn't covered, too much there, maybe it would be good material for a trilogy. There is a trilogy of books about Alexander the Great by Alessandro Manfredi, I think is his name, it's very comprehensive and the way he divides the history and campaign, his life into each book really works well.

A triology would make the first book work...if they were hits, then start the next book...

Stone's movies are good...but suffer under their own bloat soemtimes..Alexander was one of those for me. But yes, a 3 part moive of that stry would be best.

The scifi channel combined the next two Dune books into one miniseries, but it was pretty weak compared to the miniseries of Dune. Children of Dune, did you see it?

I actually enjoyed Children of Dune on Skiffy. Yeah, it compressed a lot, but overall, I found it a cool experience. It had even more of a big screen feel than the first miniseries. And I liked the humor in the story when Leto II and Ghanima would sometimes just play around as kids do. And the chick that played Alia.....she was a total babe!

Here's an interesting trivia note: Alia is supposed to be Paul's baby sister...and yet the actress who plays her is older than the actor who plays Paul by about 10 years.

2001: A space Odyssey (and its sequel) = Boring and Slow except for the bit where Hal starts killing people. That was the only good scene.

American Beauty = Kevin Spacey's character was boring and a total wanker. I spent the whole time watching it thinking, Okay we know you're going to die so just die already so I can get out of this theatre. And all the other characters were just as bad.

Major yawn fest.
