I'm reading that a leading contender is Tom Brokaw, but I don't think any announcement has been made. My guess is they might fill the moderator post with guest 'hosts' of the harder journalist variety until a decision is made -- perhaps even to 'audition' audience reaction to them?
I don't think it's a decision they must make quickly, nor one they even want to rush into, all things considered.

Yeah, but they are going to have to fill the timeslot until a replacement can come forth. And since Brokaw is retired, I think he will probably be it until they find someone perminent.
