Default Motorola and Star Trek

Some of you may or may not know that the first cell phone was invented by a Star Trek fan. He was tired of having to walk across from one room to the other to answer the phone, and by the time be got to the phone, they had already hung up.

So, this inventors thought was, how hard could it be to make a phone similar to a communicator in TOS.

After much research and hard work, he created the first cell phone.

The company... Motorola.

Take a look at the Motorola logo.

Now look at half the logo.

Does it look familiar?

And that these flip phones look like the original comunicators is not a coincidence. One of its designers admitted in an interview, that the design similarities where done intentionally.

lol, Like I said, it was created by a fan of Star Trek. So, yeah... that is why their logo looks like it does, and why the Star Tac(not Trek) phone was made.

Hmm...this is interesting. Some of my friends really hate Star Trek and when I asked them that was where the idea for the flip phone came about, they didn't say anything. lol! I bet they wanted to toss their phone out the window and say, "Ahhh!!! I've been infected!" lol :P In addition to that, I also mentioned how cool it would be to have a transporter. They didn't say anything about that either. I could tell they were thinking the same thing! lol

Give your friends them, "How William Shatner changed the World documentary" on DVD. It shows a bunch of inventions that Star Trek inspired.

I fail to comprehend your indignation, sir. I have simply made the logical deduction that you are a liar. (Spock)
