You can say that I'm wrong but I stand by my original statement, because that's the way I was taught.
I was in elementary and junior high at the same periods, so I can relate. I'll put it this way, then drop it: "their" may well have been incorrect earlier, but it's listed as correct now.
Culture always changes language anyway. But don't get me started on "the new math", haha!
