Glad I didn't say that on the boards.
I reported his original post in every thread as Spam I apologized when he updated his Group status.

No .. .there is ALWAYS a separate movie site, and StarTrek.com.

This site will not replace the official Star Trek site, if history is to serve.

I hope the two sites will work together in some capacity to provide information for the fans.

For now at least, it looks like there is a future for st.com with the new staff coming on board.

Star Trek (movies) are owned by Paramount while Star Trek (TV Shows) are owned by CBS. Even though they were both owned by Viacom, they are now 2 separate companies. The new Viacom which owns Paramount, MTV Networks & BET and CBS Corp which owns CBS, Showtime, CW, etc.

So right now there are no plans to merge the StarTrek.com site and the Star Trek Movie website into one as they are no longer related.

Thanks for replying. What will happen a few years down the road if this board becomes a community. It seems like it's been doing a good job bringing different boards together, at least so far.

The board will remain live just as the Transformers board has. Whether people will continue to come or not 6 months after the movie release remains to be seen.

I outright called him a liar! After seeing him deleting my posts and me apologizing, I started explaining a few things on what to do to be taken seriously and not viewed as a spammer...

But what confuses me is how Star Trek as an entity can be tm and (c) by CBS Studios, yet also tm and (c) by Paramount Pictures when there is so much overlap between the two, especially in the TOS and TNG characters...is there some kind of sharing thing going on, or is, for example, for copyright purposes the character of Captain Kirk as seen in the tv episodes considered a separate character from Captain Kirk as seen in the movies and so on?

Even on the TWOK Enterprise that's out, it carries both a (c) for CBS and a (c) for Paramount...

Perhaps, make the startrek.com reflect all the shows? I like the colors of this board. I dought Treklife will return, and think maybe they'll re-do the whole site. It would be nice if it'll be Star Trek, so maybe we'll become a site where people will say they love the site.
