15, i got my permit, but my parents were a-hole and were to scared to ever ACTUALLY let me drive, so I couldnt take the test when I turned 16, I had to re-get my permit and then they finally let me drive and I took my test.

I learned to drive a Standard, and my mom was the person teaching me how to drive.

Not the best idea to have your parent to teach you how to drive on their car while grinding the gears.

Although, I can say I only "killed" it twice while learning. My older sister on the other hand was horrible at learning to drive a Standard. We almost got car sick from all the sudden stops.

12 or 13 - it was so long ago I forget exactly which... Used to drive my fathers classic Mustang up and down the road when he wasn't around... And, yea I got caught... He wasn't too happy... LOL

I was 24 when I first started driving and it was more by necessity than something that I really wanted to do.

My hometown sucks as far as traffic conditions go, and it doesn't help that there are a lot of people driving that shouldn't be on the road because of how reckless, inconsiderate and generally foolish they are here behind the wheel.
