Default Spock has lung disease: COPD

Ninmoy confirms he suffers from COPD, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease . He was a smoker, but he quit 30 years ago. He says he's OK but that it's slowing him down. There is a picture of him in New York in a wheelchair and with an oxygen tank. He has trouble walking apparently.

Wish my dad had never smoked. Died at 59 in '79 from a heart attack brought on buy years of smoking (rolled his own from the time he was 14!), lack of exercise. Towards the end he developed Emphysema. Had to stop walking every so often to catch his breath.

All the best Mr Nimoy. Live Long And Prosper.

Smoking killed my father as well, lung cancer. Similar story, smoked since he was very young. I am a reformed smoker myself. I'm glad I gave it up.

I have a few friends and family who smoke, I worry about them for the reasons people have stated above. Sorry to hear about both your father's guys, I don't think you'd find anyone who hasn't been affected by smoking in some ways.

Hope Nimoy continues to live long and prosper, even though he's 82 he's been so spritely and full of life.
