Now, for some this might be tough to answer, but being that this just popped in my head and all, I figured to ask that question and see what your answers would be. I would put a "none of the above" option, however I'm sure that most of you would pick that one...I know I would...Alien³ is my choice. Because not only was it the better of the other movies, I still think it's more enjoyable and at least uses real sets. A close second would be Episode III.

I went with Star Wars. They are flawed, but the strength of episode III brings them up over the other two IMO. And the story of Palpatine works.

Haven't seen Battlefield Earth (and don't play too) and the third Alien film isn't good IMO so it is Wars.

I voted A L I E N 3 because it actually is a good movie while none of the others are.
How the hell do you get the damn 3 to exponentialize itself? |

Star Wars for me. Haven't watched Battlefield Earth, and don't plan to hearing that it is probably the worst sci fi ever made ( Plan 9 aside
).Has the elusive 'original' Alien3 script ever turned up?

Star Wars Prequels, then ALIEN 3....Battlefield Earth has no place in my sci-fi favorites, or even likeables.
![]() As for ALIEN 3, I enjoyed both the theatrical cut, and the extended cut. ![]()

Another movie that I ultimately considered to be a waste of time was "Supernova", and it has some actors I really liked in it. James Spader (StarGate), Robert Forster (The Black Hole), Robin Tunney (The Craft).

They have probably every A L I E N 3 script that was ever commissioned. Don't know which 'original' one you're referring to (I'm hoping it's not the Gibson one). Of all the stories considered, we really did get the best one for a movie. We really did. |

I remember when my mom (God rest her soul) and I went to go see Alien 3 in the theaters. We were both already big fans of the first two films, and the trailers made this one look really exciting.
We went, we saw it, we enjoyed some elements, but when we left the theater, we were left with an impression of "hmm..." With repeated viewings, the story grew on me. I thought it a very intelligently written story, and the brief romance between Ripley and Clemens was an interesting breath of fresh air in an overall arc in those three films that was devoid of human affection (save for Ripley's caring for Newt). It had, I thought, some really sharp dialogue in the side story about the religion that the prisoners adopted, and the evolution/devolution of Fury 161 as a correctional facility. Charles Dance brought a new sense of class to the Alien story with his character, the disgraced Doctor Clemens. In other ways, this motley collection of characters sort of made me think of the realm of Mad Max.
