Did anyone catch the supposed 'death scene' ala TWOK in the Japanese version of the trailer. 15 secs of extra footage.

Didn't see Weller in the trailer. But the whole, 'You think the world is safe' voice over makes me think this is about a xenophobic plot to show how Earth would be safer if it didn't go into space, (hence the destruction of the starfleet), and pursued an isolationist policy. What's CB getting vengeance for? I still think it could be linked in with Weller, maybe a family connection. Or, just putting it out there again, Weller went and found Khan, or engineered his own super humans to keep 'earth for the earthlings (lol)'.

This was a trailer for an upcoming teaser. At the very end it says "Watch the teaser on December 17".

As with the marketing of 'Dark Knight' and 'Dark Knight Rises', the first 9 minutes of 'Star Trek Into Darkness' are going to be attached to IMAX showings of 'The Hobbit'. This footage was shown to the press a couple days ago and has been getting mixed to good reviews in comments that have leaked out. Folks admitted to not being blown away by the opening scene, but seemed much more excited by quick cuts of other scenes from the movie.

The newer (longer?) trailer should be on line in a week.

If you pay attention, the "TWOK" homage isn't Kirk and Spock, though...

It's "Harrison" and Spock.

I think it is Harrison also, but far more insist it is Pines hand . . .sometimes I crack myself up witht he level of nerd in me.

I mean reading an analysis of a hand from a teaser trailer? Ugh.
