It does sorts have that Dark Knight vibe although my first thought on seeing it was "Neo blasted a hole in the side of a Borg cube".
I think the crucial stuff is in the background and due to the smoking building there I definitely get some Cloverfieldish 9/11-exploitation vibes. After the optimistic portrayal of the core of the Federation in TOS, TNG and VOY and a realistic portrayal in DS9, ENT and the one or other movie I feel safe to predict based upon the last movie that this will be the era in which Earth will be portrayed fairly cynically.
Obviously this is heretical, there are some fairly loose basic principles that Trek has always adhered to and they exclude cynicism.

Cool

"17.05.13"

is that a UK version of the poster?

The French one has a date for June 6th, I believe...

First off, let me just say I dig cool, I really do. Having said that, what is with the cool-daddy leather trench coats?

Really?

I dunno, I am sure the flick will be fun and all, but I am expecting the story to be tripe.
