Went and saw both movies I planned to see today, and was thoroughly entertained. Ended the evening with a steak dinner.
 Red Dawn, to me, in most respects, blows away the original. The thing I love about the original more than the new is the theme by the late, great Basil Poleduris (my favorite composer, whose scores I will miss in future films). Skyfall..... four words and an acronym.... Best Bond EVAH!!! IMHO!

Though I still have an issue with that song as it has no CRESCENDO!!!
It just tails off. In contrast to the movie, which had a very clear crescendo. I didn't think Quantum of Solace was anywhere near as good a bond film as Skyfall, but QoS had a much better song, IMNSHO.

It's nice to see the return of 007 and how this franchise is now more alive than ever. Dang...50 years...it's been a long time. Let's hope the Star Trek film franchise will live just as long, if not longer!

I not only think Bond is alive and well 50 years later, I think it is alive, well, reborn, bigger, badder, better, and if they can keep up the level of writing that was in this film.....we gots no worries!
The actors in this film....sublime! Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Dame Judi Dench....all of them....outstanding! The emotion of this film....jarring! A real roller coaster ride! Hits all the right notes at all the right times! The action....perfect! Casino Royale was an excellent reboot, and I even enjoyed Quantum of Solace...but this film jams its thumb into the reset button with such force, I damn near forgot about everything before!

It certainly was a good film. I especially love how they have included Bond's old Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger. Also including gadgets in this film is really what the series needed. It's nice to see there was a little of everything for fans of the past and future.

I damn near jumped out of my seat when I saw that, and the house applauded its appearance.
The music cue perfectly took you back to vintage Bond. The previous Bond movies showed us that Bond is back....but this movie really screamed "BOND IS BACK!" (And James Bond Will Return).I really loved the character story element of this movie....all the characters, well played.
