I was 12 when I saw my first Bond flick, Goldeneye. So Pierce Brosnan is the Bond I grew up with, I was hocked. The following year my parents got me the two 007 VHS sets I think one for my birthday and one for Christmas. I watched all of them from Dr. No to Licence to Kill. If I have to rate my favorite Bonds it goes as follows:
Daniel Craig Pierce Brosnan Sean Connery Timothy Dalton George Lazenby Roger Moore |

Anyone ever noticed the tone of the films always seems to shift a little with the actor playing the role?
Connery, Dalton and Craig have the harder edged Bond films (in general) and they had the harder edge themselves (Dalton didn't get to show it off properly but he had it) while Moore and Brosnan have the more far-fetched films (and were better suited to the suaver, quippier 'let's just go to bed shall we?' aspects of the character). Lazenby sorta falls into the middle since he never really had any chance to prove himself long term and yet still starred in one of the more under-rated and grown up feeling of the films. Either way, I'm inbetween on 'Skyfall' but only because I genuinely loathe 'Quantum of Solace'

Oh, yes, I definitely enjoyed Moore's more quip-laden take on Bond. He could play dead-serious when necessary, but otherwise, he really cracked me up with his one-liners and quick wits.
Even though I never saw this movie, I still think THIS Connery scene is one of the best exchanges in all of Bond-dom. (Bond-age?....yikes!) Bond: Do you expect me to talk? Goldfinger: No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die! (At lest, I think that was Goldfinger).

Yes, that was indeed "Goldfinger." Probably my favorite moment from any Bond movie.
The witty, quippy Bond doesn't sit well with me because I read the books as well as saw the movies. Bond isn't a funny man. His remarks should be more ironic or sarcastic than an attempt to be funny. The longer Moore played the part, the worse he got. "Moonraker" was the absolute rock bottom of all the Bond flicks in my book. A shame because he was so great as Simon Templar years earlier.

Gave it (Adele, SKYFALL) a listen. Not a bad theme song. Not among my faves, but definitely not bad.
