I guess Dalton since the first Bond film I saw in cinemas as 'The Living Daylights', then Brosnan. Moore was just done.

Sean Connery, the only one that gave really great Bond, as all the other Bond actors freely admit.

I grew up in, and enjoyed the Moore era of Bond. I still am anxious to get the complete Bond collection so I can enjoy all of the James Bond movies, from Connery to Craig.
I would have to say, if I were to list my favorite Bond actors in order of preference, it would be: 1. Daniel Craig 2. Timothy Dalton 3. Roger Moore 4. Piers Brosnan The only reason I have not listed Sean Connery is because, honestly, I have never seen a Connery Bond film...but I am sure they are awesomeness incarnate. And I vaguely remember "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" with George Lazenby (I think that was the actor). I think I may have seen one or two scenes from that film. I thoroughly enjoyed Timothy Dalton's short run as James Bond with "The Living Daylights" and "License To Kill". My mother always liked Piers Brosnan in Remington Steele, and thought that he would make a perfect James Bond. I am heartbroken that she never got to live to see her choice come to fruition. My favorite Bond theme songs: 1. Live and Let Die- Paul McCartney 2. A View To A Kill- Duran Duran 3. The World Is Not Enough- Garbage 4. The Living Daylights- A-Ha! 5. For Your Eyes Only-Sheena Easton |

With the Connery films you're not missing a lot with 'Diamonds are Forever' but with the first run he had from 'Dr No' to (I think) 'You Only Live Twice' it's quite interesting to watch how quickly they became quite lavish affairs from the surprisingly modest first film.
Bearing in mind for the first few years they were being released on an annual basis (can you imagine that happening with Bond or Star Trek type franchises today? I doubt it!) it's no small feat most of them remain amongst the best regarded still.

Anyone gonna say George Lazenby?
![]() Grew up with Brosnan myself, thought he was good. I liked the humour that Moore brought to it and Connery being the first defined the role and how Bond was meant to be thereafter. I like what Craig is doing with it now, a bond for a modern audience, I'm hopeful that Skyfall will take Bond back to its roots a bit as I thought Quantum of SOlace was trying to be a bit too 'Bourne' like and lost the fun Bond used to have. |

I mainly saw Moore reruns and consider him to be the best Bond. He is basically the opposite of Craig: being not heavy- but light-weighted, not getting his hands dirty, not getting emotionally involved, keeping an ironic distance. I cannot help but love this, it reminds me of Wilde's "in matters of grave importance style and not sincerity is the vital thing".

I grew up with all of them...
![]() Connery remains my favorite, and Craig, who evokes Connery at times, has become my second favorite. They finally got back to what Bond in the books was, a cruel, thick-skinned killer...who works for the good guys. As far as Lazenby? He remains the one actor who looks the most like Bond as described by Ian Fleming...Fleming described Bond as looking much like singer Hoagy Carmichael...who actually bore a resemblance to Fleming himself...

I personally would have to say Pierce Brosnan is my favorite 007; mainly because I grew up with his films. Although I was alive when Timothy Dalton was Bond, I was obviously too young to see his films. I wish I were though. In any event, I think each Bond brought something original to the table. My list of Bonds are as follows:
Pierce Brosnan (4 movies) Timothy Dalton (2 movies) Sean Connery (7 movies) George Lazenby (1 movie) Daniel Craig (3 movies) Roger Moore (7 movies)
