Saq, you're response to Tom and myself is exactly why I rarely comment on Omega's science based posts because I frankly can't be bothered with your reactions anymore.
Neither Tom nor myself said anything about not being interested in warp, but the article has absolutely nothing to do with it becoming any more REAL practically today than it was the day before it was written. Just because you want to trip over yourself to proclaim 'I was RIGHT, I was RIGHT!' in some fashion really has little to do with the rest of the world.

Yes, it was especially nice to be identified specifically amongst the other more reserved reactions as well.

Personally I think I would want to check for sure where Delta Vega was.

Again, reading comprehension. I spoke his name so therefore I must be implying by some invisible qualifier that he too is annoyed at you? Quote:
If you saw that my initial post referenced annoyance at individuals like yourselves who expressed doubt about clear scientific principles and you "can't be bothered with" my "reactions anymore." Why now? Just because I called you out?" Quote:
This is JUST a request (not an attack or a belittling or ego trip) that since these are the only areas I enjoy, can you PLEASE not poo-poo on them with a bunch of negativity? Please? Read into everything and anything else you want into that makes me out to be an ogre. I don't care. Just be more balanced in the discussion and don't derail it. If you have a negative comment say something positive about what you read, be constructive about advancements and show an interest beyond spitting on the imagination. If the only comments you want to make are that it's impractical (OBVIOUSLY) and not going to happen, Can this REALLY be called an interest or constructive?

Well there's nothing like having your point made for you.
I don't think my post or my reading of it was out of line within the actual content of the article. I would have said nothing further if you hadn't been unable to scratch your itch and involve my comment in your own post.

I am not a physicist but a theoretical space-bending device which requires according to a new theoretical paper so much energy that you'd have to tap into the force which causes the universe to expand, a force which is so far merely a theoretical construct as well, well, such kind of stuff cannot be labeled realistic.
It is theory, it is important, we Trekkers have every right to feel excited that some theoretical physicists are actually inspired by our favourite science-fiction story ... but to assume that this kind of stuff is realistic in the sense of realizable is folly. Once there are few dozens papers on the subject, once we can actually harness such extreme energy sources and once concrete plans for such a space-warping device exist we can use the word realistic. Meanwhile me might satisfy ourselves with being able to harness fusion power one day. |

Why are you still searching for a mystery? You and Tom have one consistency and that is the predilection to ignore what you don't like. That is why you can't bring yourself to reply to my request. But no reply, is just as valid as a reply. Neither of you want to honor such a request... So be it. All I can do is ask. ...and you bicker with everyone else, Tom and Horatio included. Thank you, That's my motto of choice. I'm sorry I can't say the same about you.
