Giants played a sloppy preseason game tonight. The first one often is, it's the first chance for these guys to get back into live hitting with people wearing other jerseys (the Giants don't scrimmage against other teams like some do).

I'll say this, the NFL better get this lockout with the officials settled because they do not want these replacement officials calling NFL games. We had some interesting moments tonight.

Texans vs. Panthers.

Texans Player of the game.

Jimmy Clausen. 5 sacks.

Texans Unit of the Game
Defense8 Sacks

This went as expected. The ofense was going to rusty and I expect them to continue being rusty with Shaub making his way back to playing form and remembering what he's already learned from before. Experience tells me it takes him a long time to work out his Tin Man" Impersonation when he's been out for injury. I also expected some foul ups from Foster. He put the ball on the ground 2x, Stardom has that effect. He needs to focus. My bet is that won't sink in untill the 5 game of the year.

I believe in Wade Phillips.
I don't believe in Kubiack
I do think the make each other better so I think this division is theirs.
Offense will be playing the Helterskelter game for a while untill Arian Foster gets his game on or untill the GM sees they need somone like Plaxico Buress on the other side of Andre Johnson to spread out opposing defense.

Football is back! Yesterday was cutdown day, always sad to see the players that have worked so hard all camp come to the end of their road. Some will land on other teams, some will come back when the injuries inevitably start to pile up.

On the brighter side of things, Notre Dame's Fighting Irish kick off their season this morning in Dublin, Ireland against Navy! Let's go Irish!!!

I don't think the Saints are doing all that well in their pre-season either.
Ah, well. I'll just keep on rockin' and rollin'.

I think the Saints offense is going to keep them alive, that is a dangerous passing attack. Notre Dame kicked the snot out of Navy. They just beat them up physically, tough day for the midshipmen.
