Let's see how badly CBS screws up another property it acquired from Paramount.
To review history: The original Brady Bunch series: Iconic. The follow up movies and specials, even with a few cast replacements: Not bad, kept the tone but started to wane. Best of them was "A Very Brady Christmas." "The Bradys": the attempt to turn the Brady Bunch into a prime time soap: Didn't last long. The first "Brady Bunch" movie with Gary Cole and Shelley Long: Completely missed the tone of the series, was just a rehash of famous Brady bits, and turned the family into an anachronistic joke. The second movie, "A Very Brady Sequel": Again, a rehash of the Brady's infamous Hawaii trip and other bits. Also revealed Carol's missing first husband was The Professor from "Gilligan's Island." The third movie, "The Brady Bunch In The White House": Direct to DVD. 'nuff said. With what CBS allowed Paramount Pictures to do with Star Trek, what can we possibly expect from a rebooted Brady series? They're already turning "The Munsters" into "Mockingbird Lane"...

I'm sorry, I just can't hold The Brady Bunch sacred.

They'll screw it up in that year 2000's second decade kinda way.
Just like Knight Rider (I'm convinced) can never be redone properly. They'll think adding sexual tension drama to it will be a "kewl" spin on the moral lessons and good nature the first accomplished.

Either that or just plain lowbrow sexual humor. You know, for some reason, if any comedian was to do a new take on the Bradys, I'd almost prefer Adam Sandler do it. Even as knuckle-dragging as some of his movies can get, there's almost always some kind of moral or social message to them.

Like I said, I get those shows. Michael in the office is incredible but I mean that as unbelievable and outrageous and it has a certain fascination but it doesn't get me to tune in regularly like say...Every One Loves Raymond, or Will & Grace (that's my thing) or even Big Bang Theory. I like wit and good writing. EVEN Friends was like that (for a while) I still laugh my head off at Phoebe and Joey and it's more than ten years old.

I hate forced comedy. Shows like you mentioned are my favorites. You can always tell when the actors are really on the ball and enjoying themselves, a slight smirk here and there before the punchline. I can't stand Will Ferrell. Love the Stooges, Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello. Dead pan comedy delivered by experts like Bob Newhart also work for me. Loved the Newhart series (1982–1990), and Home Improvement etc.

HOME IMPROVEMENT! Oh yes.
Yeah the stooges and Abbott and Costello and certain English comedies that know how to do deadpan. Absolutely. I don't laugh much Omegaman, but when I do, (I drink Dos Equis...No.) I want Hilarious laughter because it's truly a great feeling. It's my all time favorite emotion. Edit(That's why I like martok)
