I don't get that either. As expensive as movies are now, I find it absolutely staggering to think that people who pay for them are not there for the same experience as me.

I completely agree, guys. Jackholes who leave their cell phones on and text (or worse--TALK) while the movie is going, really piss me off.
My cell phone gets shut off once the lights go down and the trailers start showing.

But again, for the most part, I've been pretty lucky, even on opening nights. My worst experience was Alien Vs Predator: Requiem....and I've spoken ad nauseam about that night. But since then, it's been reasonably good.

I agree, I don't generally hear phones in cinemas but often you'll see someones face light up as they check their iPhone to see the latest status update or whatever, can be quite distracting, can't see why people can't just disconnect from the outside world for a few hours.

Indeed. It's enough to make you wonder how did our sanity make it intact without the internet when we were growing up? (And how did the world survive before telephones?) LOL!

Easy peasy! Hundreds of toy cars, books, playsets, models, Star Wars on TV every Christmas Day (and of course lightsaber fights with plastic swords). No need for internet!

It is amazing how lost you can feel without your phone or easy internet access, I think there are actually conditions being recognised with people suffering from withdrawal from their technology.

That said it is mightily difficult to do almost anything without the internet and a viable identity... can think of a few books where this sort of thing ends badly.
