The prices are definitely better in comparison to the original DVD box set releases in the UK as well.
I have still been slightly debating it. It comes out soon but I'm not sure I'll get it the day it comes out. I agree the work is great but I'm wondering how often I may truly watch it all. Sort of a cost/benefit analysis of my own.
But the dvd transfer is pretty poor in comparison. I recently rewatched the first three episodes of VOY again on rental and the video transfer is so poor as well. Whether they would ever go so far as remastering that as well I don't know but it had a horrible look run through the Blu-ray.
However sidebar - the eps themselves ('Caretaker' through 'Time and Again') were not all that bad, though I remember never finding season 1 of the show as poor as it became by season 7.
