I always thought Star Trek should have gone in that direction back with the Voyage Home. Strange that I remember than being so young. I thought a real adventure would be like taking off on their own like Blake's Seven...but long before I knew Rick Berman he was disappointing me...
(That Thread on Berman has really done a number on me. I realized I stop liking Trek after DS9 VOY and ENT. All of them were so disappointing and more disappointing as time went on. There were less episodes like Flashback & Trials and Tribulations, less continuity, less creativity.) So once again we're back ...almost like a rewind. Someone else is at the helm of Trek at the movie level. Will it be different this time? I'm almost anxious but with the last film so full of fluff...it's so hard to have any sort of high expectation for what is to come.

These are dress uniforms not replacement uniforms. We already have shots of them (Spock and Uhura) in their normal attire fighting with Cumberbatch's character.
