Default Fracking causes earthquakes, studies confirm

"Two separate studies are providing insights into the earth-shaking consequences of the controversial gas extraction process known as fracking.

Both studies confirm that processes linked to the extraction of oil and gas through hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, can trigger manmade earthquakes. Fracking involves blasting water, sand and chemicals deep into the ground to fracture rock to obtain oil and natural gas."

The next TV Series should be called STARFLEET!

Yeah, the UK angle was reported last week.

They discovered that the fracking process 'discovers' some geological faults that were previously unknown and increases the liklihood of possible minor quakes. However, the UK analysis suggested that there would be little chance of a major damage causing quake generated by the process. In the UK it would need to be a Mag 3 or above to cause surface damage if I recall. It claimed anyway, but quakes in the UK are historically minor.

And apparently the UK has a lower trigger point than other countries which are also fracking.
