villians will be familiar in the next movie (SPOILER: KLINgoNS!)

The brazilian Trek Brasilis website, the major Star Trek website in Brazil, posted in one of their articles a note about possible spoilers for Star Trek XII. According to the article, a trusted source to the site revealed to them that the movie villains are the Klingons and that is NO time travel involved this time. This information is preliminary, of course, and entirely rumor.

Sounds like a follow up from the first movie when the Klingons got their asses kicked by Nero. They probably want to take on Kirk and Co. as a matter of honour, and for any information they can get on Red Matter. If so, this will be a mostly action flick like the first.

They've been saying since 2008 that they will not be using time travel again in the forseable future.
If production is meant to start around January (as Quinto has indicated in a couple of interviews) then at least some of the 'rumours' should start to have a basis in fact I'd have thought.

Tattoomulans, stupid green frat girls, RomuVulcans, the Klingons have been the only familiar aliens which they got right. I say this despite preferring the Viking to the Asian Klingons.
Nice that they also noticed this (assuming that the rumour is correct) and focus on their strengths.
