Default Why Does That Martian Crater Have A Hole?

Now how come the sand/soil in the crater didn't run down into the hole and fill it up?

Or maybe it did and there wasn't enough sand to fill it completely?

Sure as hell looks odd… with the sand around the edge of the hole…

Could be a massive cavern beneath...I wonder how big the crater is.
