Shatner would be suitable for the role of Harry Mudd. He could pull that role off effortlessly.

Why does Shatner need to be in these films? Really...

He let his charater get killed in Generations..now he's way too old, and out of shape to play Kirk pre-death.

At this stage the movie is fine without him and has done extremely well and that's why there is a second coming. The new guy is now Kirk and just as good as the Shat was back in the day. Time to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For some though this may indeed turn out to be a pair of headlights!
