Cool RIP The Old st.com Message Boards

Apparently the old boards at st.com are gone for good...

Clicking on the old link brinks you to what looks like a page from the new site, and a "Page Not Found" notice...

Even the old boards, stripped of graphics, worked better than the new ones.

A real shame...

They've preserved some of the older threads on the forum of the relaunched website. I can't comment on the functionality of the boards though.

Cool

Yeah, they saved a lot of threads, but a) damned if you can find ones you want, and b ) sorting is still kind of screwy...

Plus they're allowing someone to stay on there who so far has had at least 4 IDs (2 may have been banned or suspended), someone who was considered "ban on sight" at the old boards.

Cool

Now that the old boards are gone, the same poster who made things miserable on the old boards is now doing it on the new ones...five longtime members have been apparently suspended without notification because of this person's own personal grudges...and anyone who speaks against him will find themselves next on the block, as he's taking advantage of the fact the admins are obviously not investigating reports at all, just acting on them.

Nice thing about it all?

It seems I'm getting more traffic at my place than what st.com is getting.

They still refuse to remove the one causing the trouble, yet anyone who speaks against him is getting suspended for "initiating or participating in personal attacks."

Give me a break...

Cool

The boards at st.com?

Those same two problems are still there, the admins refuse to remove them. Appeals to CBS have not been acknowledged.

Two days ago they banned a member who had been there since the 90s and was once one of the User Mods in the old chat rooms...that's how far down it's come. Many have left to come to my place. If you don't stay here at stm.com, go anywhere else but there.

Glad I never got too involved in the ST.com boards. Happy to be over at your place SB! Seems like it's the only place with activity these days among the places I frequent.
