I place it 5th best after:
1. The Wrath of Khan 2. First Contact 3. The Undiscovered Country 4. The Motion Picture (eh, I have always liked it...) JJ's movie will most likely end up being know for "saving the franchise" the way Meyer/Bennett did with Khan. Having said that, it was done in very different ways. The story in JJ's movie was mediocre and effects grand, along with plenty of young actors looking good. Hey, this works and sold a ton at the box office. To me Khan, First Contact, etc were much better scripts and stories, with less effect and eye candy. I also would agree the movie (10) does not stand up with multiple watchings as the plot holes become black holes. But, all in all, I liked it and enjoyed watching it. I thought Urban was amazing as McCoy, the Pine/Quinto duo was average (hey, thats saying alot....BIG shoes to fill). I though Uhura, Sulu and Chekov nothing special. Zoe is hot, and a good actor, I just found the plot for her odd. (NO, not the romance) I really like Simon Pegg, but I did not connect with him as Scotty at all. Again, for me the story was just a bit soft. I do NOT like that there are not going to be different writers for ST11.
