I was watching the movie for the first time in a long while (since I was a child) and this time I noticed that after they landed, there were a couple of pyramids and a large (temple?) structure that made me curious as to what the writers of the screenplay and director had in mind with the ending.......a sequel perhaps? IDK, but it seems to require one. Perhaps after someone else (R. Emmerich?) figures out that another great disaster movie could be made from WWC premise. I thought that 2012 kind of mirrored the theme of WWC, only with ocean liners. I think that he should have used spaceships instead!

Some may not know that "When Worlds Collide" is based on a 1932 novel by Philip Wylie and Edwin Balmer. What fewer seem to know is that in 1934 they published a sequel novel, "After Worlds Collide." George Pal, producer of the film of WWC also wanted to make a film of the sequel, but according to imdb, the failure of his 1955 film "Conquest of Space" blew his chances.

It's also a little known fact that a movie of "Logan's Run" was almost made in the late 60s by George Pal. The project fell through.

Something I didn't know...apparently in STII:TWOK, there are two crates in the Genesis cave labelled "Bellus" and "Zyra."

Indeed, the sequel was planned but never made.

I understand however, that 'When Worlds Collide' is still supposed to be somewhere on the Hollywood remake slate, but it's been there for years and I'm not aware of any serious start date for the project.

Speilberg was meant to be involved as a producer IIRC.

I would appreciate a Q. Tarentino directed version of that movie! One could only imagine how that movie's screenplay would be written, but it would be "great".

Not being a big fan of QT, that doesn't really work for me personally but for fans of his it probably might.
