The Buran OK-GLI is in a museum here in Germany, I've seen it a few weeks ago.

I realize that Buran is a knockoff, but that pic lools like a mockup, or a preproduction mule. Is it?

It was a glider for approach and landing tests, like the Enterprise.

That particular Buran was one up on the Enterprise...it actually had jet engines on it so it could fly under power...something the first US Orbiter couldn't do.

Last pics I saw of that one it was sitting in what looked like a parking lot, or it may have been Gorky Park.

Funny how the way it's displayed is very much like the way the Enterprise is...

I guess all the Soviets could afford were stencils for lettering, after putting a go around option in rather than dead stick.

Its hard for me to look at this ship as nothing more than a rip off of real ingenuity and artistry but it's still apart of history...that most people don't know about.
