It'll be interesting to see what happens with it - I was under the impression that Cameron was probably directing Battle Angel Alita next, but I don't think there has been a confirmed announcement what his next film as director definitely is.

I imagine Fox will be very interested in the Avatar sequels not taking forever.

But that said, this FP project he could maybe end up just producing like he did with Solaris and someone else could direct it (even Stracynski himself maybe? didn't he direct on B5?) it would just be a case of Cameron's technology innovations being used for the visual side.

In fact, I'm gonna watch it on DVD tonight. All this talk of it reminds me it's been a while since I sat down for it.
