I saw it Saturday and I definitely think the first film is better. Not by a massive amount, necessarily but this one was a bit clunkier and didn't go to some of the interesting places that maybe it could have.
I do think 2 year production cycles can be detrimental to franchises. I think 3/4 is preferable because it gives everyone some time off inbetween rather than being on the project non-stop. If I gave the first one 8/10 I'd give the sequel maybe a 6.5/10 just now.

I enjoyed it, not as good as the first one but I thought it was a decent enough summer popcorn flick.

It was ok, I just think they had too many characters in this one and also that every time they veered off into setting up The Avengers territory it started to sag and get a bit dull. Whenever it was focusing on Tony and his story it was working.
But it didn't have enough of that, I thought. Did you stay for the post-credits scene?

I loved Ironman 2...explosive funny, witty and sexy (in the good way not the immoral way). It was a bit...rushed...and I mean only a little bit toward mid to then end. Now against the previous movie the story wasn't as perfect and seamless but in my opinion it was a better movie in it's imperfection.
