Default Lame!!!

Why did they stop numbering the novels after #97 of the TOS books, or for all of them for that matter? I mean, I understand why DS9 is no longer numbered since they rebooted the books and make them take place after the events of "What You Leave Behind" in-show and "A Stich in Time" in novel, but why not number the TNG or VOY books? It would just be nice to continue that long tradition. But I guess, like how they stopped numbering the films, they decided to stop numbering the books.
