In our last federal election we voted on changing the electoral system. For those that don't know we don't technically vote for a particular party we vote for a particular member of parliament that belongs to a particular political party in a particular ridding. I believe the new electoral system that was purposed was going to allow us to also vote for which party we wanted to win. I believe there where going to be a few extra seats set aside in the house for those votes and which ever party got the most votes would get those seats. Those seats would be filled by members of that party that lost in their riding but they would be assigned by that party leader.

Your new system is the same system as we have in the Scottish Parliament. I much prefer it. Your old style is the same as we have here for the UK Parliament

Sorry I forgot to mention it actually got voted down so we still have the same system as the UK Parliament then.

Definitely see a parallel there, especially with the New Caprica storyline in Season 3. I mean in many respects it seems they are drawing comparisons to the Iraq war with the Colonials, our heroes, as the Iraqi insurgence and the occupying Cylon army as the American occupying forces. Of course those episodes were a few years back and in the middle of the Iraq War so certainly parallels there.

It's carrying on in Caprica as well. A religious organization that worships a single god called Soldiers of the One and one of these soldiers takes it on himself to strap himself with explosives and destroy a train during rush hour.

That's probably where I got the thought from...Caprica.

I think I told you about this but I think it was The Plan when the guy from Quantum Leap killed a 7 year old boy...for no reason at all.

It was disgusting. I wanted to throw up.
If I had any any inking to watch BSG it died right there.
Show violence to children is dispicable and I don't care much for the "artistic" "expression" and what it meant for the story.

I left the show and never went back and I have to say if that's the kinda FILTH the show has to offer I'm glad to leave it in the trash. Watching kids die is not what I call acceptable entertainment.

I didn't like it in 24 Redemption having a kid kill a man.
There is nothing that won't put on TV now. There are no boarders.
Give me a cartoon any day.
