I guess it could have been cool...but I don't think it was really needed. The Movie ended "Note" perfect!

I do agree. Spocks voice just didn't fit at the end. He had his end line when he said, "Thrusters on full." That should have been Spock Prime's last words. Having Kirk do his first log as captain would have been so perfect. Maybe they'll have in the dvd and blue-ray special features.

We'll see it in Trek 12.

Yeah, it could have doubeled up as his voice over at the end. Those last lines should have been spoken by Kirk, not Spock. It was already obvious by that point that Nimoy had passed the torch on. No need to hammer the point home.

Let's hope he does it at the beginning of the next one.

If he DID give a Captain's Log, all it'd do is piss off people because the new Stardate would make sense instead of consisting of random numbers.

Captain's Log doesn't exist in this version of Star Trek, neither do other things as well. All they put is was Kirk talking into a tricorder giving a lackluster homage to the original captain's log. The only log this version of Trek needs is a big brown one that collides with the ship. The doomsday turd, duh duh duh duh duh.
