What do you think about the remake being made with Jeff Bridges as Rooster Cogburn and starring Matt Damon?

I think it's time that Hollywood had a few more original ideas instead of remaking old movies.

I agree but in this case, a western by the Coen brothers! Starring the always great Jeff Bridges!! I'm there! Besides, from what I understand this one will be more true to the source material which was changed considerbly for the John Wayne flick.

Westerns not being a favourite genre, I've never seen the original. I don't know if I would go out my way to see a remake either.

The cast is promising if nothing else, although I'm not a huge fan of the Coen's either. Some good stuff, some weaker stuff.

Everything I know about this production, which admittedly isn't much, makes it a must see for me.
